LGBTQ+ Network “Channel Q” Arrives in Madison

Posted on March 5, 2020 by Jon Ellis

The Channel Q network has come to Madison on an HD Radio subchannel.

The network is now being carried on the HD2 channel of Entercom’s WOLX-FM/94.9 (Baraboo-Madison). The station did not previously have an HD2 channel.

Entercom also carries Channel Q on HD subchannels in numerous other markets, including Milwaukee.

Channel Q features “LGBTQ+ news and information, pop culture and new music.” The lineup is a mix of talk and Dance/Pop music during the day, with a revival of “Loveline” in the evening and all music overnight and on weekends.

WOLX has the largest signal of any Madison-market FM station, grandfathered in for higher power than would be allowed under current regulations. It transmits with 37kW/396m (class B) from the Baraboo Bluffs about 25 miles north of the capital city.
