Green Bay ABC Affiliate Adds Newscasts, Gets New Set

Posted on September 15, 2020 by Jon Ellis

Gray TV ABC affiliate WBAY-TV/2 (Green Bay) has added two new newscasts and updated its set.

As first noted by the Changing Newscasts blog, the half-hour newscasts air at 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The 9 a.m. broadcast is the only local newscast in the timeslot, while the 4:30 show will compete with an established newscast on Nexstar CBS affiliate WFRV.

The 4:30 newscast will fit between existing newscasts at 4 and 5 p.m. The additions bring WBAY to six hours per weekday of local news.

You know @rothchris for his smart, in-depth sports coverage. I’m really excited to see what he brings to a newscast that’s unlike anything NE Wisconsin has seen. Tune in 9/14 at 4:30pm on @WBAY pic.twitter.com/0dPWfYtw0H

Both new newscasts replaced Family Feud, which moved to Scripps NBC affiliate WGBA and its MyNetworkTV sister station, WACY-TV.

The station also unveiled a new set on Sept. 8:
