A Wyoming state senator is a member of a company buying an AM-FM pair of radio stations serving the northern Black Hills.
Tri State Communications LLC is buying KBFS/1450 (Belle Fourche, SD) and KYDT/103.1 (Pine Haven-Sundance, WY) from Karl Grimmelmann’s Ultimate Caps, Inc. An asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC lists the purchase price as $80,242.82 plus several expenses until closing, including utility bills and a $3,000 monthly payment to Grimmelmann, who will continue to operate the stations as they have previously been run.
Tri State Communications consists of Andrea Driskill Wood of Moorcroft (30%), Matthew James Wood of Moorcroft (30%), Tyler Lindholm of Sundance (20%), and William Ogden Driskill of Devils Tower (20%). Driskill is a current state senator and Lindholm is a former state representative.
KBFS and KYDT are based in Belle Fourche and operate as “The Country Twins,” simulcasting News, Conservative Talk, and Country music. KYDT’s class C1 facility (25kW/503m) rimshots Belle Fourche, Spearfish, and Sturgis.
