Civic Parts Ways with More Hosts, Adds Syndicated Shows

Posted on February 23, 2026February 23, 2026 by Jon Ellis

Civic Media has added more syndicated programming to its statewide News/Talk network after parting ways with more hosts.

Civic’s eight News/Talk stations are now airing an eight-hour block of national Progressive Talk programming during the day, including Stephanie Miller from 9 to 11, Thom Hartmann from 11 to 2, and Jeff Santos from to 2 to 5. The new lineup marks change in direction for a network that, until a few months ago, featured a daytime lineup of all Wisconsin-originated programming.

Miller had previously only aired in Madison, where her show continues to begin at 8 a.m.

Meanwhile, John Peterson and Gordy Young are no longer with Civic. The duo had done a morning show on W224EG/92.7 (Madison) and WMDX/1580 (Columbus) since 2023 and began hosting a statewide afternoon show in November after the departure of two other hosts.

In Wausau, Chad Holmes’ local show is no longer airing on “Bulls Falls Radio” (WXCO/1230 and W255DN/98.9). Holmes will continue to host play-by-play sports on the station.

The network continues to run Wisconsin-based morning and afternoon shows. “Daybreak” with Brian Noonan and Jamie Martinson, which launched in January to replace Pat Kreitlow on many Civic stations, is now also airing in Madison.

Later in the day, Greg Bach is now co-hosting “Nite Lite” with Pete Schwaba from 5 to 7 p.m. Bach was the co-host for Jane Matenaer from 9 to 11 a.m. and had continued as the main host in that timeslot following her retirement in December.

In Milwaukee, “All News, All Morning” with Dan Hanni continues to air from 6 to 9 a.m. on WAUK/540 (Jackson), W262DJ/100.3 (Milwaukee), and W266DR/101.1 (Waukesha).

“We’re excited to refresh our programming with the addition of new radio shows and a continuous stream of digital content that meets audiences wherever they are,” Civic Media Vice President of Product Aaron Carreno said in a news release. “This growth reflects our commitment to delivering fresh voices, diverse perspectives, and engaging storytelling across every platform. By strengthening both our on-air and digital presence, we’re creating more opportunities for our community to connect, discover, and stay informed—anytime, anywhere.”
