Wis. Sports Talker Bill Michaels Resurfaces with New Flagship

Posted on February 8, 2021 by Jon Ellis

Wisconsin Sports Talker Bill Michaels will return to the airwaves Tuesday in three markets, a month after leaving his former flagship.

Michaels’ 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. show will be heard on three Mid-West Family stations: “The Zone” (WOZN/1670 and K244FM/96.7 Madison), WKTY/580 and K244FM/96.7 (La Crosse), and WAYY/790 and 105.1 (Eau Claire). The stations had carried Michaels’ previous show that was based at Entercom’s WSSP/1250 (Milwaukee).

Michaels formed his own company, Bill Michaels Sports Inc., following his departure from WSSP. He said in a Monday appearance on WKTY that Mid-West’s Randy Hawke was one of the first people to reach out.

Michaels will do the show from home. He said on the WKTY appearance that they’re working to sign additional affiliates.

Michaels will also continue to produce podcasts.
