New FM Signals Signing On in Manistique, Mankato

Posted on June 5, 2021 by Jon Ellis

Another two new FM signals granted during the FCC’s AM Revitalization effort are signing on in the Upper Midwest.

In Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, AMC Partners Escanaba/Radio Results Network signed on W253CG/98.5 (Manistique). The 250-Watt translator relays WTIQ/1490.

The station’s Classic Country format is now identifying as “Maverick 98.5” at times:

In southern Minnesota, Subarctic Media submitted an application with the FCC for a license to cover K292HI/106.3 (Mankato). It’s not clear if the station is currently on the air.

K292HI was granted to relay “The Fan Mankato” (KFSP/1230) and will transmit from the KFSP/KTOE transmitter site just east of Mankato with 250 Watts.

KFSP is also relayed on K276EH/103.1 (Mankato), which transmits from just south of the city. K276EH’s license is not directly tied to KFSP.
