ABC affiliate KLKN/8 (Lincoln) is off DISH Network amid a retransmission consent dispute between the satellite provider and the station’s owner, Standard Media.
KLKN says the previous carriage agreement expired on the evening of Friday, Nov. 11.
ABC continues to be available to DISH customers in Lincoln and the Tri Cities because it is one of the few markets where the network has multiple affiliates — in this case, KHGI/13 (Kearney) is also carried. However, the outage means KLKN’s 4.5 daily hours of local news and syndicated programs including “Live with Kelly & Ryan,” “Dr. Phil,” and “Entertainment Tonight” are not available to DISH customers.
The dispute is also affecting Standard Media’s stations in the Cape Girardeau, MO, and Providence, RI, markets.
KLKN is slated to be sold to Cox Media if Standard General’s proposed purchase of Tegna receives federal approval.
