Longtime journalist Steve Karlin announced plans to retire in March from Hearst CBS affiliate KCCI/8 (Des Moines). Karlin joined the station as a reporter in 1989 and has been anchoring since 1994, launching his “Karlin Covers Central Iowa” feature series in 1997.
Steve Wexler announced that he will step down from his role as market manager for Good Karma Brands’ trio of stations in Milwaukee and will move to a coaching and development role within the company.
RadioInsight reported that Jon Reilly is joining Midwest Communications as operations manager for the company’s three music formats in Wausau.
Joe Schulz has joined Wisconsin Public Radio as the network’s Green Bay-based reporter.
Todd Allbaugh is now hosting an 8 to 11 a.m. show on Civic Media’s Liberal Talkers in Amery, Richland Center, and Wausau.
The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association noted the recent death of longtime engineer Jim Wulliman at the age of 98. His obituary says that after starting his career in Illinois, Wulliman was responsible for the design and construction of Milwaukee’s public TV stations and spent the last 20 years of his career as director of engineering for Journal Broadcast Group in Milwaukee.

A belated note that Townsquare Media Contemporary Hits outlet “Hot 104.7” (KKLS-FM Sioux Falls) added the “Brooke & Jeffrey” morning show in September. The syndicated show replaced Andy & Tasha, who parted ways with the station earlier this year and reunited on Andy’s podcast.
A few more stations have joined the All-Christmas list, including a flip Thursday, Nov. 17, by Milwaukee’s “B93.3” (WLDB). The Journal Sentinel has the story. More flips are expected Friday, Nov. 18, including “104.1 EZ FM” (KOEZ Ames-Des Moines), “Classic Hits-Mas 94.7” (KCLH Caledonia-La Crosse), and “Life 97-3” (KDNW Duluth). The last switch will coincide with Duluth’s Christmas City of the North Parade, which usually triggers multiple stations to adopt the seasonal playlist. Wisconsin Public Radio advised listeners that WPNE/89.3 (Green Bay) will experience periodic disruptions on Monday, Nov. 21, due to tower and antenna repair and maintenance.
Iowa Public Radio and Minnesota Public Radio also announced outages affecting stations in the Quad Cities, Bemidji, and Ely in undated notices.
