Civic Media is buying the Madison-market AM station and FM translator that already carry the company’s programming.
An asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC on Monday, Dec. 5 says the Madison-based buyer will pay Good Karma Broadcasting $363,000 for WTTN/1580 (Columbus) and W224EG/92.7 (Madison).
Civic is owned 90% by Sage Weil and 10% by Michael Crute. Crute’s New WTTN LLC has been programming the Liberal Talk station under a local marketing agreement since 2018.
Civic Media owns, or is in the process of buying, nine AM stations, three full-power FM stations, and eight FM translators around Wisconsin in seven other transactions filed with the FCC since July. Liberal Talk formats have launched on ten of the signals.
