Posted on June 9, 2023 by Jon Ellis

People

Gray NBC affiliate WOWT/6 (Omaha) announced that Cassie Crowe has been promoted from assistant news director to news director.

Also in Omaha, the Nebraska Broadcasters Association notes that SummitMedia has moved to a new management model for its cluster of five stations following the previous general manager’s departure. Kate Maguire is now VP of Sales and Jim Spector is VP of Programming.

Allen ABC affiliate WAOW/9 (Wausau) announced that Brad Hanson has been promoted from anchor to news director.

Gray ABC/FOX affiliates KOTA-TV/KEVN (Rapid City) noted that evening anchor Miranda O’Bryan has been named Miss South Dakota.

Stations

Sinclair ABC/FOX affiliate KHGI/13 (Kearney) is advising viewers that it will be using a temporary smaller transmission antenna this summer as workers replace the station’s original top-mounted VHF antenna with a new UHF antenna. The work is part of the station’s eventual move of its RF broadcasts to UHF channel 18. It will continue to remap to virtual channels 13.1 (ABC), 13.2 (FOX), and 13.3 (TBD network).

Gray NBC affiliate KTTC/10 (Rochester) received a Service to America Award from the National Association of Broadcasters for its nearly 70-year long “Fifth District Eagles Cancer Telethon.”
