Weekly Log: KDWB Host Moves to PM; KCRG Launching Lifestyle Show

Falen Bonsett has moved from her longtime role on the Dave Ryan in the Morning Show at iHeartMedia’s KDWB/101.3 (Richfield-Minneapolis) to co-host afternoons with Zach Dillon.

Sinclair Broadcast Group named Rocky Wagonhurst vice president and general manager of CW affiliate WVTV/18 (Milwaukee).

Spencer Pierce is joining Hubbard ABC affiliate WDIO/10 (Duluth) as sports anchor/reporter.

Anchor/reporter Ryan Juntti and reporter/producer Emily Ness have departed Allen Media ABC affiliate WKOW/27 (Madison).

Meteorologist Malcolm Byron has departed Standard Media ABC affiliate KLKN/8 (Lincoln).


Stations

Gray ABC affiliate KCRG-TV/9 (Cedar Rapids) announced a new one-hour lifestyle show called “Everyday Iowa” will air beginning Sept. 11. The show will be hosted by radio and TV broadcaster Justin Roberts, actor Catherine Blades, and radio veteran Christina Jensen. They will replace the syndicated Kelly Clarkson Show.

Tegna NBC affiliate KARE 11 (Minneapolis) received national Edward R. Murrow Awards for excellence in video and feature reporting for the story, “Gunny at the Wheel,” and in the podcast category for “KARE 11 Investigates: Cruel & Unusual.”

Elsewhere, the University of Nebraska Lincoln won a national Murrow for digital reporting in the student competition for its report, “Farm to School Institute.”

The Nebraska Cornhuskers announced that “The Husker Football Show with Matt Rhule” will air Mondays at 6:30 p.m. on Scripps CBS affiliate KMTV/3.1 (Omaha) and Gray NBC affiliates KSNB/4.1 (York-Hastings-Lincoln), KNOP/2.1 (North Platte), and KNEP/2.1 (Sidney-Scottsbluff) starting Sept. 4. Meanwhile, the “Nebraska Football Coaches Radio Show” will air Tuesdays at 6 p.m. on most Husker Radio network affiliates including KLIN/1400 (Lincoln), KXSP/590 (Omaha), and KRVN/880 (Lexington).
