Weekly Log: “MyTalk” PM Duo Retiring; Arena Football TV Plans

Lori Barghini and Julia Cobbs announced that they will end their longtime afternoon show at Hubbard Radio’s “myTalk 107” (KTMY Coon Rapids-Twin Cities) at the end of June. The duo has been with the station since it launched its entertainment/personality talk format in 2002.

Minnesota Public Radio’s “The Current” announced that Zach McCormick has been promoted to midday host.

Gray Television announced a multi-year agreement to air Saturday Arena Football League games in at least 34 markets starting April 27. The Minnesota Myth said some of its games will air on KBJR/6.3 (Superior-Duluth), KMNF-LD/7.3 (Mankato), and KTTC/10.3 (Rochester).

The Minnesota Broadcasters Association announced that the 2024 inductees to its Hall of Fame will include Walter “Q Bear” Banks, Jr., Bill Diehl, Kari Hubbard-Rominski, Stan E. Hubbard, Ginny Hubbard, Robert W. Hubbard, Pat Kessler, and Mark and Paula Persons. The induction ceremony will be held Oct. 1 in Rochester.

Anchor/reporter Scott Carpenter is departing Hearst CBS affiliate KCCI/8.1 (Des Moines) for a new job with the Hearst station in Birmingham.

Nebraska Public Media has launched a $6 million capital campaign for TV studio renovations.
