Weekly Log: Several TV, Radio Arrivals and Departures

Posted on May 31, 2024May 30, 2024 by Jon Ellis

Information on the effects of Alpha Media‘s recent cuts at radio stations in Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota continues to trickle in, with listeners reporting long periods of dead air on some stations in Brookings and Luverne. There have also been reports by BringMeTheNews and the Brookings Register that have not been previously noted here.

Meteorologist Blaise Keller has joined Morgan Murphy Media CBS affiliate WISC-TV/3.1 (Madison), anchoring weekend evening newscasts. Keller had previously worked at a competing Madison station.

CBC Manitoba announced that Brittany Greenslade will be the new anchor of its 6 p.m. TV newscast.

Samantha Mesa has departed from her role as news anchor at Tegna ABC affiliate WOI-DT/5 (Ames-Des Moines).

News anchor Alejandra Palacios has departed from Weigel’s Telemundo Wisconsin (WYTU-LD Milwaukee).

Brittany Styles has departed Mid-West Family’s “Z93” (WIZM-FM La Crosse) after 20 years with the station.

The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association notes the recent death of Richard Mueller, who was known as Skip Taylor in on-air roles at radio and TV in stations in Milwaukee and Wausau. He retired in 2020 after more than 50 years in the business. Mueller was 77.

Gray TV’s KMNF-LD/7.1 (Mankato) told viewers to rescan after recent tower work. The station had a construction permit to move from RF channel 7 to RF channel 8.
