RadioInsight notes that Audacy’s WCCO/830 (Minneapolis) has added the syndicated “The Other Side of Midnight with Frank Morano,” which airs from 12 to 4 a.m. WCCO had previously carried John Batchelor from 12 to 2 a.m. and Rick Valdes from 2 to 4 a.m. (Batchelor continues from 10 to midnight.) WCCO’s 50kW skywave signal can be heard across the Midwest at night.
The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association also reports that Dan Markus has departed WVBO/103.9 (Winneconne-Oshkosh) after more than 50 years in broadcasting. Markus continues other project, including the podcast “Dan Markus’ Wax Museum.”
Brooke Bickford announced she is no longer with Alpha Media’s Fort Dodge radio group.
Michael Admire announced he is returning to Nexstar NBC affiliate WHO-DT/13 (Des Moines) as a part-time contributor, remaining in his existing role at Drake University. Admire is the latest in a series of veteran journalists WHO-DT has brought back in part-time roles, as reported earlier this year by Dave Busiek.
Meteorologist Trey Fulbright announced that he is departing Hearst CBS affiliate KCCI/8 (Des Moines) for a new job in Pittsburgh.
Salem Media announced that Salem News Channel has launched as a broadcast network on stations owned by HC2 Broadcasting. Affiliates include KWJM-LD/15.5 (Minneapolis), WZCK-LD/8.1 (Madison), KQMK-LD/25.7 (Omaha), KIUA-LD/15.2 (Lincoln), K15MR-D/51.5 (Fargo), and W23FC-D/53.6 (Eau Claire).
