The FCC has dismissed Oxford Lifestyle Educational Radio’s application for a new low-power FM station on 92.9 in Oxford. The action comes after the FCC issued a letter determining that the applicant was commonly-owned with other applicants seeking LPFM stations, which would violate rules prohibiting multiple ownership of LPFM stations.
The FCC denied an amendment requested by Madison Christian LPFM Radio to change frequencies on its pending application, which would have removed it from a potential time-sharing agreement with a competing applicant. Madison Christian LPFM Radio originally applied for 103.7 licensed to Monona with a transmitter in Madison; its amendment had proposed changing to 102.1 from a site in McFarland. It’s not immediately known why the amendment was denied.
