KRWB Becomes “The Northern Star” with News and “Super Hits”

Posted on November 7, 2024November 7, 2024 by Jon Ellis

KRWB/1410 (Roseau) and K275BB/102.9 (Roseau) have become “The Northern Star” following a recent management change.

According to an updated logo on a sister station’s Facebook page, the new format emphasizes News, Farm, and Sports with a “Super Hits” playlist in between information updates. It replaces a Classic Rock format that had aired on KRWB for the past few decades.

Documents placed in the station’s public file indicate R&J Broadcasting began operating KRWB and “Lake Country KQ92” (KKWQ/92.5 Warroad) on Sept. 1. KRWB/KKWB remain owned by Border Broadcasting.

R&J owns a dozen other stations in northern Minnesota.

KRWB transmits with 1kW day and night, using a directional pattern at night, serving an agricultural and forest region along the Minnesota-Manitoba border and Lake of the Woods.
