RadioInsight and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report that Brett Andrews is out amid cuts at iHeartMedia. Andrews headed programming for Milwaukee and Madison and had on-air duties including mornings at “95.7 BIG FM” (WRIT Milwaukee) and afternoons at “Z104” (WZEE/104.1 Madison).
Good Karma Brands announced lineup changes at “101.7 The Truth” (W269DL/101.7 Milwaukee and WGKB/1510 Waukesha). “Jammin’ with Juice,” hosted by Benjamin Hooks and Carrie Mahone, will move from the noon hour to the 7 to 9 a.m. morning drive time slot. At noon, “Truth to Power with Kyle Wallace” will debut. Mornings had previously been hosted by Denise Thomas and Telly Hughes; Thomas will now co-host a show at 6 p.m. Mondays with afternoon host Dr. Ken Harris.
The Milwaukee Brewers announced the death of Bob Uecker at the age of 90. Uecker played in the MLB for six seasons before becoming the radio voice of the Brewers for 54 years. He also made dozens of appearances on “The Tonight Show” and starred in the 1980s sitcom “Mr. Belvidere” and the “Major League” film series.
Erik Hayes has joined Coastal Television FOX affiliate KQDS-TV/21.1 (Duluth) as general manager.
Meteorologist Sarah Lighthiser has joined Gray NBC affiliate WEAU/13.1 (Eau Claire).
President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Olivia Trusty to the FCC. (Trump has already named Brendan Carr the new FCC Chair.)
The CBC has announced plans to add reporters in small communities including Steinbach, MB, and Sault Ste. Marie, ON.
