Weekly Log: Numerous Anchor Moves; KUOM To Spend Week Off Air

Following the retirement of longtime anchor Bill Jartz, Gray ABC affiliate WBAY-TV/2.1 (Green Bay) has named Chris Roth co-anchor of the station’s 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts, joining Cami Rapson. Roth, formerly WBAY’s longtime sports director, continues to anchor the 4:30 p.m. newscast. Meanwhile, Dave Schroeder has been promoted to sports director.

Meteorologist Diana Rodriguez has joined Gray NBC affiliate KWQC/6.1 (Davenport).

News anchor/reporter Bella Caracta has departed Gray NBC affiliate WOWT/6.1 (Omaha) for a new job in Kansas City.

News anchor/reporter Emma’le Maas has departed Allen Media NBC affiliate KWWL/7.1 (Waterloo).

News anchor/reporter Grace Houdek has departed Allen Media ABC affiliate WKOW/27.1 (Madison).

Reporter Preston Stober has departed Scripps NBC affiliate WGBA/26.1 (Green Bay) for a new job in Connecticut.

Rick Gevers’ Weekly Newsletter reports that Stacey Nogy will depart the news director’s office at Tegna NBC affiliate KARE 11 (Minneapolis) in September, while veteran Wisconsin ND Joe Radske is departing Gray NBC affiliate WEAU/13.1 (Eau Claire) for Nexstar CBS affiliate WFRV/5.1 (Green Bay).

KCCI’s Laura Terrell shared the story of her husband Shawn Terrell‘s recovery from two strokes. Shawn Terrell is a former sports anchor in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids.

The University of Minnesota’s “Radio K,” heard on KUOM/770 (Minneapolis) and three FM signals, announced that it will be off the air and not streaming from June 6 to 13 due to building maintenance.

Minneapolis Public Schools’ “Jazz88” (KBEM-FM/88.5 Minneapolis) has moved to a new studio.

Radio World published an account of the recent upgrade by WCTS translator K250BY/97.9 (Minneapolis).

Tegna’s KARE 11 (Minneapolis) has moved Quest from channel 11.4 to 11.2, replacing Court TV. There is no immediate replacement on channel 11.4. Court TV is still seen on channel 41.6 of Scripps’ KPXM (St. Cloud-Minneapolis).
