The following are updates to previously-reported items and other recent regulatory filings and actions concerning Upper Midwest broadcast stations. This report is created by the author and is not an official report of the FCC.
Iowa
KM Radio of Independence’s KQMG-FM/95.3 (Independence) reports that it returned to the air at full power on Aug. 1. Programming is not immediately known.
Michigan
Sumbera Broadcasting’s WMJT/96.7 (McMillan) was granted special temporary authority to transmit with 1kW ERP from its studio in Newberry after losing access to its leased tower site north of town, where it normally uses 50kW/136m. The filing states that WMJT is looking for a new tower site.
Minnesota
iHeartMedia informed the FCC that the primary station for K273BH/102.5 (Fridley-Minneapolis) is now the HD4 signal of KFXN-FM/100.3 (Minneapolis), rather than the HD3 signal of KTCZ/97.1 (Minneapolis). The filing says K273BH “Hot 102.5” is fed by the internet. This follows filings last week by the Educational Media Foundation saying that the “K-Love” feed on four Twin Cities translators is now originating on KFXN-FM-HD3 rather than KTCZ-HD2. KTCZ’s HD subchannels were still on the air as of Aug. 7.
Fairmont Area Catholic Radio requested program test authority for new station KRYX/91.9 (Fairmont), which will use 830W/56m (class A). The station will carry Spanish-language Catholic programming from EWTN Radio Católica Mundial; the group also owns English-language Catholic station KYEJ/90.1 (Fairmont).
Edge Spectrum’s K34QF-D (Vesta) reports that it returned to the air on Aug. 7.
Wisconsin
WRVM’s WYVM/90.9 (Sheboygan) reports that it returned to full-power operation on Aug. 5 after installing a new transmitter.
