Civic Media has dropped its News/Talk lineup from a station in northwestern Wisconsin and switched it to a simulcast of a Country station.
WLAK/1260 (Amery) and its FM translator, W298DK/107.5 (Amery), are now rebroadcasting “St. Croix Country” from Civic’s WSCM/95.7 (Baldwin).
WSCM and WLAK serve adjacent counties in the border region east of the Twin Cities. Stations from Minneapolis, Eau Claire, and Rice Lake also serve the area.
The News/Talk lineup on WLAK, formerly WXCE, launched in fall 2022, with the FM translator signal added in late 2023 after it moved from a different site and changed frequency.
Civic’s News/Talk lineup continues to air in nine other markets around the state. The network’s former Green Bay station flipped to Oldies over the summer.
