Weekly Log: Longtime Green Bay DJ Returns

Posted on December 1, 2023January 30, 2024 by Jon Ellis

People

The Green Bay Press Gazette and other outlets report that Otis Day is returning to the radio, to host mornings on Woodward’s “95-9 Kiss FM” (WKSZ De Pere-Green Bay). He previously worked at Midwest’s WIXX/101.1 (Green Bay) for more than two decades.

RadioInsight notes that iHeartMedia’s “Cities 97.1” (KTCZ Minneapolis) has swapped the shifts of two personalities, with former morning co-host Brian Oake now hosting afternoons and former afternoon host Paul Fletcher joining Naima Dage in morning drive.

Reporter Jennifer Austin has departed KARE to pursue new opportunities.

TVNewsCheck reports that Ryan Scott has been promoted from news director to station manager at Scripps NBC affiliate WGBA/26 (Green Bay).

Andy Rausch has joined Twin Cities PBS (KTCA/KTCI) has vice president and general counsel.

All-Christmas Update:

At least 19 Upper Midwest radio stations switched to All-Christmas formats on Thanksgiving, followed by another 31 on Black Friday. The vast majority are stations that flip on roughly the same schedule each year. One surprise is that no commercial Duluth station has gone All-Santa this year, though non-comm outlet “Life 97.3” (KDNW) has made the traditional change. Elsewhere, Subarctic Media’s KKCK/94.7 (Springfield-Marshall), which normally runs Contemporary Hits, switched to “K-Santa” for apparently the first time.
