Freedom 1570 Launching in Minneapolis

Posted on December 1, 2019 by Jon Ellis

After four years as “Wellness Radio,” Salem Media’s KDIZ/1570 (Golden Valley-Minneapolis) relaunched as “Freedom 1570” on Monday.

The station stunted over the weekend with a loop of static, Morse code, and gibberish.

Freedom1570.com lists a lineup of syndicated conservative talkers including Chris Plante, Dana Loesch, Ben Shapiro, and Mark Levin. Some of the shows air at alternate times on sister station “The Patriot” WWTC/1280 (Minneapolis), and the two stations plan joint events.

“Freedom 1570 has been placed in the Twin Cities for such a time as this to provide overlooked facts and to be a voice of reason in a wayward society,” said General Manager Salem Media Group-Twin Cities Nic Anderson in a news release. “Ringing Liberty and Truth is not just a tagline as it’s our mission to remind all who engage with us that freedom is our greatest gift.”

Salem also owns Christian talk station “The Mission” KKMS/980 (Richfield-Minneapolis) and Business talker KYCR/1440 (Golden Valley-Minneapolis). KYCR’s format was heard on 1570 until late 2015.
