North Dakota AM Station Returns License after FM Partner Sold

Posted on February 25, 2025February 25, 2025 by Jon Ellis

Faith Broadcasting has returned the license of KHRT/1320 (Minot) after a sale split the AM station from its longtime FM partner, KHRT-FM/106.9 (Minot).

As reported in the FCC Monitor, Faith recently requested an extension of special temporary authority for KHRT-FM to remain silent, stating that buyer RadioDifferently LLC would take control of the station the week of Feb. 24.

On Feb. 24, Faith submitted a cancellation application for KHRT/1320.

A notice posted on the station’s website says, “KHRT 1320 AM has been permanently removed from the air. We will be selling off all the AM equipment and office furniture. If you are interested please contact Roy Leavitt at (701) 818-4454.”

The broadcaster took both stations off the air last summer, citing a decline in support and advertising and put them up for sale. The AM station did not find a buyer.

KHRT had signed on in 1958 and used 2.5kW day and 310 Watts night, non-directional. It had carried a Southern Gospel format.

Here’s an ID and jingle from KHRT in 2019:
