Posted on February 16, 2026February 17, 2026 by Jon Ellis

The following are updates to previously-reported items and other recent regulatory filings and actions concerning Upper Midwest broadcast stations. This report is created by the author and is not an official report of the FCC.

Iowa

KM Radio of Independence’s KQMG-FM/95.3 (Independence) reports that it returned to the air Feb. 11.

The FCC has approved Iowa Media Network’s purchase of KCOG/1400 (Centerville) and K280GY/103.9 (Centerville) from Honey Creek Broadcasting.

Michigan

The FCC ordered Sovereign Communications to pay $37,250.51 in delinquent regulatory fees and associated interest, administrative costs, and penalties for seven Sault Ste. Marie-market radio stations from the 2021 through 2024 fiscal years. Sovereign has 60 days to submit a payment or show cause why the fees should be waived or deferred.

Minnesota

Minnesota Public Radio’s KSJR-FM/90.1 (Collegeville-St. Cloud) notified the FCC that it began operating at reduced power on Feb. 9 due to an antenna failure. It has been granted special temporary authority to transmit with 10kW ERP from its auxiliary antenna until repairs are complete.

The FCC has approved Christensen Broadcasting Luv LLC’s purchase of KQAD/800 (Luverne) and KLQL/101.1 (Luverne) from Connoisseur Media.

Nebraska

The FCC has approved a modification to the construction permit for future station KBVW-FM/88.9 (Winnebago) to reduce the power from 4kW to 360W. KBVW-FM will be owned by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

North Dakota

The FCC granted Central Dakota Enterprises’ KXRP/91.3 (Bismarck) an upgrade from 4.2kW to 5.5kW.

Wisconsin

Columbus Community Radio completed its donation of WAWA/91.1 (Columbus) to Radio 74 Internationale on Feb. 12. WAWA had already carried the Christian network.
