Weekly Log: Lineup Changes at Two Twin Cities Talk Stations

Audacy’s WCCO/830 (Minneapolis) has added “America At Night with McGraw Milhaven” from 9 p.m. to midnight, except for Twins pre-emptions.

iHeartMedia’s KTLK/1130 (Minneapolis) has replaced “This Morning, America’s First News with Gordon Deal” with “Fox News Rundown” in the 5 a.m. hour.

Jon Miskowski has announced plans to retire from his role as PBS Wisconsin Director of Television.

Deb Messer has retired as general manager of Hubbard ABC affiliate WDIO/10 (Duluth).

Hubbard ABC affiliate KAAL/6 (Austin-Rochester) announced that Axel Gumbel will add 6 p.m. co-anchor duties starting in June.

Gray Media stations returned to DISH Network on May 1 after the company and satellite provider reached a new agreement. The outage had begun March 10.

Lee Davis, former owner of WCUB/WLTU (Manitowoc), has died at 90. Seehafer News reports that Davis worked in Albuquerque, Fort Lauderdale, Philadelphia, and Chicago before becoming general manager of the Manitowoc stations, which be bought in 1988 and sold to Seehafer in 2015. He also hosted WCUB’s “The Breakfast Club” for more than 30 years.

Station of the Year winners at the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association’s Awards for Excellence include Hearst’s WISN-TV/12 (Milwaukee), Gray’s WMTV/15 (Madison), Gray’s WSAW/7 (Wausau), Good Karma’s WTMJ/620 (Milwaukee), Seehafer’s WOMT/1240 (Manitowoc), Good Karma’s WBEV-FM/95.3 (Beaver Dam), WLSP-LP/103.5 (Sun Prairie), WVMO-LP/98.7 (Monona), Woodward’s “95.9 Kiss FM” (WKSZ De Pere-Green Bay), and CTJ Communications’ “96.1 The Lake” (WLKG Lake Geneva). The first six stations listed above were also recognized for News Operation of the Year.
