Central Iowa Station Drops “Soft Rock” for “Rewind” `90s Hits

Posted on July 8, 2026 by Jon Ellis

KDAO-FM/92.9 (Eldora-Marshalltown) has dropped its longtime Adult Contemporary format following a recent change in station management.

On July 6, KDAO-FM became “Rewind 93,” positioned as “90s Pop Rock.”

The change comes two months after OnTheGoMedia took over daily operations of KDAO-FM and KDAO/1190 (Marshalltown). OnTheGoMedia also owns KLMJ/104.9 (Hampton) and “99 The Wave” (KQCR/98.9 Parkersburg).

The flip moves KDAO-FM further away from KQCR’s `70s and `80s Classic Hits format.

KDAO-FM had carried “Soft Rock” since signing on, at 99.5, in 1992. It moved to 92.9 and upgraded in 2024.
