The following are updates to previously-reported items and other recent regulatory filings and actions concerning Upper Midwest broadcast stations. This report is created by the author and is not an official report of the FCC.
There was a noted slowdown in filings during Labor Day week.
Iowa
Iowa Western Community College’s KIWR/89.7 (Council Bluffs) reports in a Sept. 8 filing that it returned to full-power operations on March 18, citing an administrative oversight for the delay in filing the notification.
Michigan
Morgan Murphy Media/Queen Bee’s Knees’ WOLV/97.7 (Houghton) and WKHB/102.3 (Houghton) have applied for upgrades that would extend their coverage areas farther south. WHKB would also move to 102.9. Both stations currently transmit from Hancock as class C3 facilities. Both have applied to move to a site about ten miles southwest of Houghton that’s already used by sister station WHBS/96.3. WOLV and WHKB would both transmit with 22kW/226m (class C2), sharing the WHBS antenna.
Nebraska
The University of Northwestern-St. Paul’s KGBI/100.7 (Omaha) has applied to move to a tower a half-mile away from its current site in the Crown Point antenna farm, changing from 100kW/309m to 100kW/300m.
Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Educational Communications Board’s WHLA/90.3 (La Crosse) has completed a slight change in its facilities from 100kW/307m to 97kW/309m.
