Classic Hits Get an Upgrade in North-Central Minnesota

Posted on May 11, 2022 by Jon Ellis

De La Hunt Media has shuffled formats in the Walker area, upgrading Classic Hits, adding a Sports outlet and dropping full-time Adult Contemporary.

As first reported by RadioInsight, KAKK/1570 and K229DJ/93.7 are now carrying FOX Sports Radio. KAKK continues to carry the Minnesota Wild, but the Twins have moved to KDKK/97.5 (Park Rapids).

Meanwhile, KAKK’s former Classic Hits format is now airing on KQKK/101.9, which dropped the Adult Contemporary format it had carried since signing on a quarter century ago.

As a Classic Hits station, KQKK as picked up the “Arrow” branding that had been used by the former KSKK/94.7 (Staples).

The syndicated format formerly heard on KQKK is used on evenings, overnights, and weekends on KPRM/870 (Park Rapids), which is now relayed on K242AY/96.3 (Walker).
