Scripps NBC affiliate WTMJ-TV/4.1 (Milwaukee) has named Shannon Sims and Charles Benson as the anchors for its 10 p.m. newscast. The two already anchor the 6 p.m. broadcast.
Meanwhile, Marisa Woloszyn has been promoted to morning meteorologist at “TMJ4.” She will replace Brian Niznansky, who is moving to the evening shift after a promotion to chief meteorologist.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on Justin Vernon of Bon Iver hosting a new weekly show for “Radio Milwaukee” (WYMS/88.9).
RadioInsight reported that Colleen Valkoun has departed as iHeartMedia’s Milwaukee market president.
Krista Hatcher has moved from mornings on “93.1 Jamz” (WJQM DeForest-Madison) to middays on sister station “Magic 98” (WMGN/98.1 Madison). RadioInsight reported that “93.1 Jamz” will add the syndicated Breakfast Club morning show on Sept. 15.
Radio-Online reports that Ben Cominos has joined Woodward News/Talker WHBY/1150 (Kimberly-Appleton) to host the 8:30 to 11 a.m. timeslot. Jonathan Krause is moving to 4 to 6 p.m.
Krystal Miga has joined South Dakota Public Broadcasting’s radio network as the new state host of Morning Edition. Miga, who grew up in Rapid City, is based at the network’s Rapid City studio.

Longtime anchor Angela Kennecke is leaving Nexstar CBS affiliate KELO-TV/11.1 (Sioux Falls) to work full-time on her charity, Emily’s Hope. Kennecke has been with the station since 1989.
The firing of CTV National News anchor Lisa LaFlamme attracted more attention south of the border, this time from the New York Times.
The Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced that the 2022 Gold and Silver Circle honorees at this fall’s regional Emmy Awards will include Chuck Sibley of KTTC (Rochester), Carla Beaurline of Around Town TV (Minneapolis), Steve Eckert of KARE (Minneapolis), and Jim Johnson of WDAZ (Devils Lake-Grand Forks). Emmy nominees are posted at midwestemmys.org, where tickets are on sale for the Oct. 15 gala in Bloomington.

Gray TV announced that it has adopted a minimum wage of $18 per hour “for essentially all full-time, non-commissioned and noncontracted employees of Gray and its wholly owned subsidiaries.” The company said about 2,000 employees will receive raises as a result of the change. Gray owns TV stations in 19 Upper Midwest markets.
The Wall Street Journal and Variety reported late last week that NBC is considering dropping programming in the last hour of prime time (9 p.m. CT and MT, 10 p.m. ET and PT) and giving the hour back to affiliates to program locally. If such a change happened, it would give NBC affiliates the opportunity to launch local newscasts in that hour to compete with local FOX affiliates.
Southern Minnesota PBS station KSMQ-TV/15.1 (Austin) has completed a move to a new downtown facility. It had been located at Riverland Community College for 50 years.
