A fire has silenced a small Catholic radio station that served as Harvey, North Dakota’s only strong FM signal.
KFYR-TV reports the Feb. 13 blaze destroyed Mack’s Farm & RV Center. No one was injured.
The business was the transmitter site for Real Presence Radio’s 50-Watt K216DI/91.1. The network says in an FCC filing that it is working to buy replacement equipment and find an alternate transmitter site.
The local radio station in Harvey is Three Way Broadcasting’s KHND/1470, which has a construction permit to add FM translator K258DT/99.5. The station carries News, Talk, and a variety of music as “The Mix.”
The area is served by fringe and deep fringe FM signals from Devils Lake, Minot, and Bismarck, as well as numerous regional AM signals.
