“Boost” Takes Over Former “Air1” Signal in Minneapolis

Posted on May 3, 2021 by Jon Ellis

With the Worship music network Air1 now airing on a larger signal in the Twin Cities, the former Minneapolis Air1 signal is now carrying a new Christian network.

W225AP/92.9 is now Boost Radio, a new network positioned as “Pop, Hip-Hop, and Hope.” RadioInsight reported that the switchover came Monday, May 3.

92.9 had been carrying a looped message telling Air1 listeners to tune to KMWA/96.3, which began carrying the network several weeks ago. W225AP’s programming is legally originating on KMWA-HD2, which had previously carried PraiseLive. Praise is now heard on KNOF/95.3.

Boost Radio is operated by Gateway Creative Broadcasting and is also heard in the St. Louis and Chicago markets. W225AP and KMWA are owned by the Educational Media Foundation.

W225AP transmits from the Wells Fargo Center in Minneapolis with 250 Watts but uses a directional antenna limiting its signal to the northwest after a past interference complaint from a St. Cloud station.
