James Ganley has been elected to the Minnesota Public Radio Board of Trustees.
All Access reported that “The North 103.3” (WDSE-FM Duluth) has hired Shane German as afternoon host and special projects coordinator. His exact timeslot was not specified.
All Access also noted that Kyle Murphy has joined KDMA/1460 (Montevideo) and KDMA-FM/93.9 (Granite Falls) as operations manager and afternoon host.
Anchor/reporter Natalie Grant is leaving NBC/CBS affiliate KBJR/6 (Superior-Duluth) for a job in Spokane.
The Star Tribune interviewed KARE 11 (Minneapolis) reporter Lou Raguse about his new book, “Vanished in Vermillion,” which documents a South Dakota cold case he covered earlier in his career.
WISC-TV/3 (Madison) reported on the first all-female sports broadcast on UW-Madison’s WSUM/91.7, hosted by Tia Sadlon, Krissy Birdsall, and Annika Bereny.
Ken Chapin, longtime weather presenter at WSAU-TV/7 (Wausau) and WDIO/10 (Duluth), has died at the age of 93. His obituary says a service will be held in the spring.
Stations
Wisconsin Public Radio station KUWS/91.3 (Superior) is ending weekly reruns of “Radio Superior,” a historic radio reenactment which had continued in repeats following the 2014 death of program creator Mike Simonson. The show had aired Fridays at 6 p.m.; KUWS will revert to the statewide Ideas Network schedule of the syndicated “1A” in that timeslot.
