Metinka Slater has joined Nexstar NBC affiliate WHO-DT/13.1 (Des Moines) as the station’s sixth meteorologist. Slater had worked at a competing Des Moines station up until last year.
Cameron Hopman is joining Allen Media ABC affiliate WKOW/27.1 (Madison) as its new chief meteorologist.
Emerson Lehmann has joined Gray ABC affiliate WBAY-TV/2.1 (Green Bay) as morning co-anchor.
Derek Sibley has departed Morgan Murphy CBS affiliate WKBT/8.1 (La Crosse), where he was morning meteorologist.
Reed Gregory has departed Gray NBC/CBS affiliate KVLY-TV/KXJB-LD (Fargo) for a job as public information officer with the Fargo Police Department.
RadioInsight reports that Meg Rieder is joining NRG Media’s “Sweet 98.5” (KQKQ Council Bluffs-Omaha) has morning co-host.
The Star Tribune reports that longtime Minnesota radio owner and industry leader Wayne Eddy has entered hospice.
The StarTrib also reported on Twin Cities PBS producer Carol-Lynn Parente being inducted into the national Children’s and Family Emmy Silver Circle.
MPR News reported on the launch of ATSC 3.0 (NextGen TV) in the Twin Cities.
Twin Cities PBS (KTCA/2.1) announced that it is now available on the free streaming platform Local Now within the Minneapolis-St. Paul market. It and other PBS stations also stream freely through the PBS apps and website.
Gray’s KEYC/KMNF-LD (Mankato) announced that new national network The365 will replace Circle on KMNF’s channel 7.3 on Jan. 1. The channel will continue to carry MSU Maverick Hockey. Circle is leaving the air nationally.
