FCC Monitor: 1 Station at Reduced Power, 3 Others Back to Full Power

Posted on December 30, 2024December 31, 2024 by Jon Ellis

The following are updates to previously-reported items and other recent regulatory filings and actions concerning Upper Midwest broadcast stations. This report is created by the author and is not an official report of the FCC.

North Dakota

Double Z Broadcasting’s KDVL/102.5 (Devils Lake) has requested special temporary authority to transmit at 1.6kW ERP, rather than its licensed 100kW, after a fire at its transmitter site. The filing states that KDVL is using a backup transmitter and that a new transmitter has been ordered.

Digital Syndicate Network’s KDKT/1410 (Beulah) reports that it returned to full daytime power of 1kW on Dec. 27. The station had reported in October that it was at reduced power due to a transmitter failure.

South Dakota

Northwestern Media’s KNWC/1270 (Sioux Falls) has returned to full daytime power of 5kW directional after resolving a problem with one of its towers. KNWC’s 2.3kW directional nighttime facility had not been affected.

Wisconsin

Audacy’s WMYX-FM/99.1 (Milwaukee) reports that it returned to full power of 50kW on Dec. 11. The station had reported earlier this year that it was making antenna repairs.
