Weekly Log: KBEM Makes Hometown Hire for Afternoon Drive

Posted on December 5, 2025December 5, 2025 by Jon Ellis

Minneapolis Public Schools’ “Jazz88” (KBEM-FM/88.5) has hired Yonci Jameson as music director and afternoon host. Jameson’s broadcasting career began at KFAI/90.3 on “Mostly Jazz,” a show established by her great-grandmother and later hosted by her grandfather. Jameson worked at KBEM as a high school student and later worked at KRSM-LP/98.9. “This is a homegrown local hire the station is proud to celebrate,” KBEM said in a news release.

Natalie Gross has joined Midwest Communications Country outlet “Y100” (WNCY/100.3 Neenah-Menasha-Green Bay) as morning co-host.

Sinclair announced that Jay Zollar will retire as VP and GM of FOX 11 (WLUK Green Bay) and CW 14 (WCWF Suring-Green Bay) at the end of the year. Sinclair said current station manager Todd Ziegler “will continue in his current role…and assume responsibility for the stations’ day-to-day operations.”

The Star Tribune reports that a judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by meteorologist Wren Clair against Hubbard Broadcasting’s KSTP-TV/5 (St. Paul) after the two sides entered mediation.

The Star Tribune also published an in-depth article on harassment faced by female broadcasters.

RadioInsight notes that iHeartMedia’s “Cities 97.1” (KTCZ Minneapolis) repeated a few seconds of the same song over and over again for nearly two and a half hours on the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 2. The glitch attracted attention on social media.
