Christian broadcaster My Bridge Radio has launched its promised Spanish-language service in central Nebraska.
The official launch of “My Bridge Radio” (with radio pronounced in Spanish) on KMMJ/750 (Grand Island) and K284DC/104.7 (Grand Island) was June 1, according to its website. KMMJ’s signal blankets much of the state during the day with 10kW, while K284DC uses 250 Watts from the My Bridge tower south of Grand Island.
The U.S. Census Bureau’s 2018 American Community Survey says about 27 percent of the population of Hall County, where Grand Island is located, is Hispanic. The only other Spanish-language radio station in the area is “La Gran D 93.3” (K227BQ and KRGI-FM-HD3).
My Bridge, which operates a Christian network based at KROA/95.7 (Grand Island), bought K284DC from The Praise Network last year for $35,000 and received KMMJ as a gift. KMMJ and the translator had gone off the air during the transfer.
