Five more new FM translators in the Upper Midwest have filed licenses to cover with the FCC in the past month, indicating that they are on the air or will be soon. The 250-Watt signals were granted during the AM Revitalization effort:
Eveleth, MN: W285FP/104.9, relaying locally-owned FAN network affiliate KRBT/1340. The licensee informed the FCC on July 12 that the translator is operating pursuant to program test authority.
New Prague, MN: K294DF/106.7, relaying Ingstad Brothers Broadcasting Classic Country/Polka outlet KCHK/1350. The licensee informed the FCC on July 16 that the translator is operating pursuant to program test authority. KCHK currently simulcasts with KCHK-FM/95.5 but has carried a separate format in the past.
Lincoln, NE: K257GN/99.3, relaying NRG Media News/Talk/Sports outlet KLIN/1400. The licensee informed the FCC on June 22 that the translator is operating pursuant to program test authority and promoted the new signal on its Facebook page the following day.
Sioux Falls, SD: K272FZ/102.3, relaying Townsquare Media News/Talker KSOO/1000. The translator requested program test authority from the FCC in a July 8 filing.
River Falls, WI: W226CK/93.1, relaying Carol Ann Hanten’s WEVR/1550. The translator requested program test authority from the FCC in a June 30 filing. Though WEVR has always simulcast a Full Service Light AC format with WEVR-FM/106.3, the addition of the translator could mean a second format offering from the WEVR stations, which serve the far eastern part of the Twin Cities metro area.
