The following are updates to stories previously reported here and other recent FCC filings and actions:
Iowa
The FCC granted St. Gabriel Communications a construction permit for a new station on 89.3 in Mason City using 150W/68m (class A).
Minn-Iowa Christian Broadcasting received a construction permit for a new station on 89.7 in Osage using 25kW/85m (class C3). (See running list of new NCE FM grants)
Michigan
AMC Partners Escanaba’s WUPF/107.3 (Powers-Escanaba) was granted an upgrade from 50kW/97m to 50kW/130m, moving to a tower slightly south of the current location.
Minnesota
The FCC granted Park Public Radio a construction permit for a new station on 88.3 in Virginia using 100W/125m (class A).
Elemental Public Media received a construction permit for a new station on 90.3 in Babbitt using 15kW/176m (class C2).
We Have This Hope Christian Radio was granted a construction permit for a new station on 90.9 in Alexandria using 250W/13m (class A). The new station will displace Minnesota Public Radio translator K215BL/90.9 (Alexandria). (See running list of new NCE FM grants)
Nebraska
Theatre Organ Preservation of Nebraska was granted a construction permit for a new station on 89.5 in Culbertson using 10kW/96m vertical only (class C3). (See running list of new NCE FM grants)
The FCC approved an upgrade for Radio 74 Internationale’s KQQA/90.5 (Shelton) from its present 600W/45m (class A) to 10kW/45m (class C3).
Flood Communications Tri-Cities LLC and Flood Communications of Omaha LLC closed on their purchases of stations from Platte River Radio on Feb. 16. Flood Communications Tri-Cities is now the owner of KKPR-FM/98.9 (Kearney), KXPN/1460 (Kearney), KHAS/1230 (Hastings), KICS/1550 (Hastings), and the AM stations’ associated translators. Flood Communications of Omaha is now the owner of KLIQ/94.5 (Hastings). Ownership of the companies is detailed in the original report.
North Dakota
Educational Media Foundation “K-Love” translator K237ER/95.3 (Grand Forks) completed a change that expanded its coverage area, switching from its previous 250W/66m to 170W/111m.
South Dakota
Innovative Media Technologies low-power TV station K06QJ-D (Sioux Falls) applied to upgrade from 100 Watts to 3kW, remaining at the KSFY-TV tower near Rowena.
Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Educational Communications Board, one of the parent organizations of Wisconsin Public Radio, received a construction permit for a new station on 90.7 in Rice Lake using 1kW/112m (class A). (See running list of new NCE FM grants)
Magnum Communications’ WKBH-FM/102.7 completed a community of license change from La Crescent, Minn., to Onalaska, Wis.
Magnum informed the FCC that W290AL/105.9 (Baraboo) went off the Feb. 13 air due to equipment failure. As reported here previously, W290AL has a construction permit for a large upgrade which will include moving to 102.1 and switching its primary station to WEZY/1350 (Portage). W290AL’s filing says the station may return to the air from its present site or may “complete construction of the new site as soon as weather and supply chain availability allows.”
Central Wisconsin Broadcasting closed on its purchase of WOSQ/92.3 (Spencer-Marshfield), WDLB/1450 (Marshfield), and WDLB translator W254DL/98.7 (Marshfield) from Seehafer Broadcasting on Feb. 15.
