Owner of Neillsville Radio Stations Buys Marshfield Duo

Posted on October 25, 2021 by Jon Ellis

The owner of three radio stations in Neillsville, Wis., is buying a pair of radio stations to the east in Marshfield, a city already served by one of the group’s stations.

The deal filed with the FCC calls for Central Wisconsin Broadcasting to buy two stations and a translator from Seehafer Broadcasting for $250,000. The deal includes ESPN Radio affiliate WOSQ/92.3 (Spencer-Marshfield), Full Service Classic Hits station WDLB/1450 (Marshfield), and WDLB translator W254DL/98.7 (Marshfield).

J. Kevin Grap owns 100% of Central Wisconsin Broadcasting, based in Neillsville, with Kaleb K. Grap listed as an officer in the company and Logan K. Grap listed as a director.

The company owns Hot Adult Contemporary outlet WPKG/92.7 (Neillsville), Rocker WCCN-FM/107.5 (Neillsville), Soft Oldies station WCCN/1370 (Neillsville), and WCCN translator W253CN/98.5 (Neillsville). WCCN-FM’s signal rimshots Marshfield.

WDLB and WOSQ compete with Wausau-market stations and are considered to be part of the market, though they do not provide strong signals to Wausau itself.

Manitowoc-based Seehafer retains its six stations in the Manitowoc market. The company previously sold its stations in Wisconsin Rapids to another central Wisconsin broadcaster.
