Nebraska AM Station Drops Country for Conservative Talk

Posted on November 3, 2023 by Jon Ellis

An iHeartMedia station serving the High Plains in western Nebraska and northeastern Colorado has dropped Classic Country for Conservative Talk.

KOGA/930 (Ogallala) made the switch to “NewsRadio 930” on Sept. 5, according to the station’s Facebook page.

The mostly-syndicated lineup includes hourly FOX News updates, FOX News Rundown, Armstrong & Getty, Clay Travis & Buck Sexton, Sean Hannity, Jesse Kelly, Joe Pags, and George Noory’s “Coast to Coast.”

KOGA also simulcasts with KMCX/106.5 (Ogallala) in the 9 a.m. hour with “Midwest Opinions” followed by “Swap Shop.” It airs “Focus on Ag” in the 1 p.m. hour and farm reports twice an hour when the markets are open.

Live sports include the Denver Broncos and Ogallala High School sports.

KOGA broadcasts with 2.1kW day and 500 Watts night. It’s the only full-time News/Talk station in the area, competing with regional AM signals and FM music formats.

The Classic Country format had launched in late 2018, replacing Soft Oldies. The station had gone All-Christmas seasonally for many years.
