Midwest Communications has swapped the branding of two Sioux Falls radio stations, sending the heritage KELO-FM callsign to a weaker signal.
KELO-FM/101.9 (Sioux Falls) and KQSF/95.7 (Dell Rapids-Sioux Falls) swapped their identities on Nov. 3, with 95.7 now KELO-FM and 101.9 now “Q101.9”.
“Q95.7” had previously carried Contemporary Hits but switched to Adult Contemporary earlier this year, and the frequency remains AC with the KELO-FM branding. KELO-FM made its annual switch to All-Christmas simultaneously with the move to 95.7.
Meanwhile, 101.9 had moved to a more Hot AC direction in recent years. The new playlist appears to most closely match the Hot AC chart with a few additional Top 40 selections.
101.9 is the bigger of the two signals, using 34kW/177m (class C2). 95.7 transmits with 25kW/100m (class C3).
The two stations compete with Townsquare Media’s longtime Contemporary Hits outlet, KKLS-FM/104.7 (Sioux Falls).
95.7 will be the third frequency for the KELO-FM callsign, which was originally on 92.5, now KTWB.
